Burner recognized as, and redetected as same;
BTC BCE 1610IM
Generic driver checked and greyed out.
Not normalizing.
Tried unchecking decode MP3 directly to CD.
Made a couple coasters before just let it have about 25 minutes to get it done.
16x drive worked great before upgrade.

Haven't figured out how to import using file structre the same as old version. Had to make New View, what ever that is for each drive i have files in, so when MJ starts up it will go to Media Library, I still have to click on each drive New View I called c:\ and E:\. I agree having a (Media Library and Media View) may of been over kill. But I for one only used the Media View option of MJ 7.2.

On the good side, the blue interface and visualizations looks much more pro.

The low level burning engine is pretty much the same in version 8 so I'm not sure what's going on here. Verify that all your options settings are the same as before, such as:
- generic driver checked (or unchecked)
- direct mp3 decoding setting
- writer speed setting

Did anything else on your system change since the time it was burning faster?
You could try de-fragging your hard drive.
If you're running NT/2000/XP, try installing the latest Adaptec aspi drivers. You can find the aspi link on the "cd burning tips" page. Then try unchecking "generic driver".
Are you doing other stuff in MJ while the burn is taking place? Version 7 didn't allow that.
