Conflict Indicator In Recording Schedule?
« on: May 01, 2010, 10:11:15 am »

I have one tuner.  If I set up 2 recordings to take place at the same time there seems to be no indication in the recording schedule that there is a conflict and that one of the recordings will be missed.  Are there any plans to add some kind of indicator that there is a conflict/problem?

I think that assigning a higher priority to one will solve this.

I tried changing the recordings priorities (one to "low" and the other to "high") but I still don't see any warning/indication that one of them will not record?

There is no warning.  But it is a good idea.

Any chance this could be implemented?

maybe list U-Verse does it, with a conflict resolution dialog.

basically, "these conflict, which to you want to record?"

or, even better is the TiVo solution.  every scheduled recording is put on a list from highest to lowest.  if I move a show to the top, it just knows that's the most important thing, and it doesn't need to bother me to ask.  I can move shows up and down in the list, and it takes the highest one over anything lower whenever there is a conflict.  easy to see, easy to set up (for the user) and works great :)

Is there any warning or indication that a show will not or was not recorded due to a conflict or some other error?  If MC just silently misses recordings this could be a big problem...
