Which iPods are compatible with MC15?

I'm terribly confused about which iPods are supported by MC15 and which are not...
I have a (old) iPod Classic 120Gb and not a problem here.
I have another (new) iPod Nano and this one is being recognized by MC15 but is NOT compatible.

How to know which MC-compatible iPod to buy before heading to the shop?

This info doesn't seem to be compiled anywhere on the forums or in the Wiki.  I recently started a thread asking people to post about their working players.  We'll see if anyone replies.
