Hello,
I think it would be nice to add WOL (wakeup on LAN) capabilities to MC.
I've been successfully waking up my server semi-automatically via batches/scripts (WOL, wait, Start MC). Sometimes, however, I forget to run the batch and instead start MC directly. With local libraries it's not a big deal - I can wake up the media server after MC is started and everything will work. With remote libraries it's a problem - if the remote library is not accessible, MC loads the last successfully used or default library. Or if I pause/stop the client MC for some prolonged time, the server falls asleep..
Proposed features:
-- MC sends WOL packet to the server upon start up
(or at least make it possible to run external applications/scripts on MC start up --> this would actually be a separate "nice to have" feature - "run external applications on startup")
-- add "keep alive" feature - to prevent the server from falling asleep when the client MC is paused/stopped (but connected)
What do you think?
