I have a NAS that stores all of my media. All computers within my home network then connect to this server. I have installed an evaluation of Media Center that is working fine on one machine. According to the docs I had read, MC supports full synchronization between a server and a client. What is not clear to me is is this only supported when using MC to stream audio?

If I have a copy of MC installed on computer A with a second installed on computer B, is streaming audio from A to B the only way to keep A and B's MC metadata in synch? Alternatively, is there a way I can have A and B's metadata stored on the NAS that both clients can share and update simultaneously?

For full simultaneous bidirectional access you need to use a Media Center Library Server.

However, you can put the media library on a NAS and share it with any number of machines.

In this scenario, the first user to open the library gets read/write access and subsequent users get read-only access.
