simple library server won't play
« on: December 02, 2010, 04:01:58 pm »

I am trying to simply play my library on a client (laptop) using library server, like the good ol' days before DLNA! :)  My client will start playing the library, and then quit, sometimes in one second, sometimes in 15 minutes.  One time, the laptop stopped playing and my library server computer started playing...why was that?!?  Both have the same version of MC15 (159).

I have played with the media network settings, but don't really see too many that apply to 'just' server-client (most are heavily involved in DLNA or web remote options).  I noticed it's using port 52199, but does it have to if DLNA is not involved?  It used to use port 80, 81, etc. but I don't see that anymore.  Is that still possible?

I looked at the conversion settings for audio, but again, didn't think most applied.  Almost all of my library is mp3 anyway.

Help!  I'm trying to stream my Christmas music to my den, and so far this has not gone well...

There was a recent problem with WAV files over Library Server.  It's fixed and should be available next week.

You could probably tell MC to convert to MP3 VBR if that is the problem.
