Activ X control unwanted
« on: December 22, 2010, 04:21:18 pm »

Hello

When I play an audio file I have a window security message asking me if to authorize an activ x control.

How can I identify the origin of the activ x control in order to remove it ?

Thanks

Can you be a little more specific?  What are you doing exactly?

Windows should tell you what control it is.

Make sure you're not using a legacy Track Info visualization that tries to show visualizations.  These are no longer supported.

Correct Jim more precisions are needed

I am in standard vue
I first select an album and then I Click on any song in order to play it

As soon as the song is in play mode I have pop up window asking for a choice that says:

                       Windows Security Warning
An activ X Control embedded in this page could act in a non reliable way on iother parts of the page.
Do you authorise such action ?
           YES              NON

As Matt sugested I also think that it is linked to a track info visualisation plug in .

My problem is when I open Tools => Plugin manager   I do not have any track info plug in listed.

How can I check that I have not any plug in installed (or semi installed )?
How can I remove suche plug in ?

Thanks

I just  have discovered  that this problem occurs when
Selection of the Playing now section
(Right Click => Track info => simple Slide show ...)

And the Readme text included in the C:\Program Files\J River\Media Center 15\Visualizations\Track Info\Simple Slide Show
Explaine this : « This will allow unsigned (and potentially unsafe!) ActiveX controls to be run from your local
hard drive. If you don't follow these steps then you will be presented with a dialog each
time a track loads. »

Do you have any suggestion in the good usage of simple slide show ?

What is the benefit of Simple slide show ? (I did selecte dit because I was wondering if i twas possible to have a slide show of pictures related to a song or an album and inported with the album ex : slide show of the covers art + back + inside folder + .. of the CD)
