I've got a Samsung External DVD drive.  For some reason if I have the drive connected and MC open at the same time the system blue screens.
I've tried the same drive on several different machines and the same thing happens on each.  So it seems to be the drive rather than the system.

I'd guess there's an issue with the drivers unfortunately I can't replace them as the drivers are just the standard Windows drivers - ie there's no install disk.

It seems I'm not the first to experience this.  cncb seemed to have a similar problem here some time back:

Other media apps don't seem to have the same problem.  I'm aware that this does not mean that MC is doing anything wrong.  More likely something is not implemented correctly in these samsung drives.

I guess this thread is really just for the weird and wonderful thread really.  If you are getting Blue Screens and have an external DVD drive try unplugging it!
