Rename, move, copy files ... but what to do with cover art?
« on: January 02, 2011, 06:04:18 am »

I tried to move all my audios into a different location:
[@Artist]\([Year]) [Album]

but the problem is the cover art - either it stays in the old folder or it gets moved into a completely different location cause its album name is a date and the artist is "unknown" ... so I'am ending up having this:

Van Halen
- (1986) 5150
- (2004) The Best Of Both Worlds
- 5150
- The Best Of Both Worlds

Can anyone suggest a way forward to this? One way I thought of would be to embed the cover art into each file and then perform this action again ...

thx

It happens to me the same thing: I moved my movies using the rename function but the covers remained in the source folders. This happened with versions 14.15 and 16 and also happens with the new 17beta

thanks

For music, I'd recommend embedding the art in the tags.

If you're set on sidecar files in the same folder (a shared folder for all art is the default in Media Center), you'll have to do the move in two steps -- once for audio, and once for images.
