Picked up a BN Nook Color, Rooted it in 15 minutes and am enjoying the hell out of it all for $249.  The screen is incredible.  I don't need 3g so I have no contracts for data plans to deal with.  Really worth looking into.  Rooting is too simple.  Great cheap way into the world of Android tablets.

I'm really looking for that all in one device. plus being we do graphics\printing be nice to be able to have adobe products usable on the tablet for when we are on the road. and use it for jriver when at home. spinning the screen i think is pretty cool. Helps for those people on the other side of you, just flip the screen. only concern how long before it breaks!

There are HEAPS that have been annouced - I'm actually waiting to see if I can get a combo that runs Win7 with enough grunt to do Video Playback without have a battery life that is too terrible.  The other think I would like is an IR port so the whole thing can be used as a Universal Remote as well.

Would have been great! But it fell on it's face when trying to load my large library and when using remote desktop connection. So i returned it and waiting on something that will work. Hopefully these new dual core tablets\newer processors that are coming out will be strong\fast enough.

I think the ASUS looks nice, if you really want a Windows tablet.  IPS screen and Wacom digitizer for the win!  (I agree on the too expensive though, and Windows 7 isn't a good tablet OS).

I've been following the whole NookColor rooting with considerable interest.  I too, am looking for an inhouse only tablet and currently this seems to be one of the cheapest real world options without resorting to the scary Chinese no-names.

The build of the Nook is really sturdy.  The screen is excellent.  The battery life is not bad.  I use it for an hour or so every night.  I have charged it twice since I bought it 11 days ago.  YMMV as I keep WiFi turned on all the time even when using the Kindle app to read books.  There are still some minor annoyances that will eventually be worked out by the guys over on the XDA Developers Forum.   They are already working with Froyo.  I will gladly deal with a few of these little annoyances knowing I am only into this "toy" for $249 instead of $500 or more.

Oh, and last but not least....Gizmo works great on this.
