MJ8 Crash after Copy
« on: June 11, 2002, 06:26:57 pm »

I tried to copy a song from a music cd; MJ8 said it was finished, then immediately my Windows XP Pro went blue screen and I had to restart.  I thought the song was at least recorded, but it was only partly so in MP3 Encoder VBR format.  I have up-to-date video drivers and BIOS.  768 megs RAM.  I have the 9 meg Music Jukebox 8.0.293 installed, registered version.  Any ideas ?

Does it do the same thing if you have "uncompressed wave" chosen instead of MP3 VBR? Or if you turn off simultaneous rip/encode? Also, try different tracks to see if it's related to a problem on the CD.

Let us know.
Thanks,

No, not related to the mucic CD.  I did succeed in copying the song as an uncompressed wave file, then I converted it to the MP3 VBR format.  So I guess the problem lies in trying to directly convert the CD song directly to an MP3.  I hope someone at J River can fix this in a future version; or maybe Windows XP is just too picky Next Page
