Trial MC15 and Gizmo evaluation
« on: December 26, 2010, 06:07:08 pm »

I'm running a trial version of MC15 and would like to try out the Android app Gizmo. Gizmo's installation is asking for a server access key. Is there any way to trial Gizmo with MC15? Gizmo is the main reason I'm trying out Media Center.

Welcome to Interact.

You can get an access key in Options > Media Network.  Look in the wiki for more information about Gizmo.

Thanks Matt. All set. Worked like a charm.

Now I'm trying to figure out whether I can play a slideshow at the same time I'm playing a set of MP3's. So far can't figure out how to do that. Is this a cockpit problem?

You should be able to.  To advance image playback you need to tap the image.  We hope to add a slideshow feature in the future.

Re: displaying jpegs.
My OS is Windows 7 and using the server environment, not Gizmo, I'm not able to display jpegs. Searched for interfering drivers but haven't found any. Slideshow looks like it is working, the screen goes black, the control visuals indicate the images are incrementing but the screen stays black, no image. When I do a slideshow via Win7 Windows Expolorer the jpegs are rendering fine. Picassa is also displaying images OK.  Any suggestions?
I know this is not a Gizmo question but since I started this newbie thread thought it made sense to keep it all together.
Thanks,
Mark

Try updating MC.  Start a new thread if necessary.  Please explain "using the server environment".

I checked and I'm running the latest build of MC15.
Happy to start up a new thread for this. Would you like it in MC15?
Re: server environment. I was refering to doing controls to the Windows 7 PC where MC15 is installed as opposed to using the Gizmo client.
Still having the trouble where displaying my jpg media is not working. Get a black screen.
However using the slideshow function of Win 7's Windows Explorer displays fine, leading me to believe I don't have a hardware issue.
The play of my audio files is working well.
