Managing Libraries
« on: January 09, 2011, 11:23:38 am »

I admit to being a relative newcomer to MC and am really struggling to find my way around the product.  I find the menu structure highly confusing with fragments of subjects in multiple places.  Don't get me wrong; I have just paid the $50 for the licence so I am keen to use it but I need some help.

I expect to be able to add folders to or remove folders from the library.  So, under Tools/Import, I can add a folder but, once added, I can't remove it.  Why not?

I expect, if I add some files to a folder linked to the library, to be able to refresh the library but I can't.

In Tools/Options, there is a menu item called Library & Folders.  I expected to find all the options I needed in here but that isn't the case.

In File there is another Library related set of things.

This confusing set of menus really isn't helpful or user freindly.

Am I missing something here?

Thanks for your purchase.

Go to Tools/Import/Autoimport, select the folder you want to remove and click the remove button.

Options has a search window in the upper right corner.

Thanks Jim.

I am slowly finding my way around but can't help feeling that the menus could be better structured - just a personal view.  ;)

I have now set up several libraries, each containing specific types of media.  What I really want is to be able to structure the way media is presented to various DLNA devices.  Can I set up multiple DLNA servers, each linked to one of my libraries, so only that content is served?
