new to this so forgive me if this was covered before.  I installed CCCP and still having problems i am using  15.0.172 love it. using gizmo on my droid that works great.  but cant get video to work smoothly

i was having the same problem...judder/jitter/studder whatever you want to call it,

for DVD's
playback method J.river
audio decoders: microsoft dtv-dvd audio decode
video decoders: ffdshow
video renderer:  enhanced video renderer

this worked for me.

what other video renderers are there? recommended?

Just a little suggestion, but... I see you have an AMD system there.  Any chance you are using the manufacturer-provided AHCI drivers for your SATA ports rather than the default Microsoft ones?  AMD has serious problems with their older chipsets in AHCI mode.  You'll actually get better performance in PATA-emulation mode in most cases, but if you need SATA features like hotswapping or TRIM, you'll do MUCH better with the Microsoft drivers.

In the Device Manager, you want to check under the Storage Controllers part of the tree and look at the driver provider.  Another way to go would be just to roll back to PATA Emulation mode in the BIOS (sometimes called "Legacy", "Off", or "Standard"), reboot Windows, and see if the problem goes away.  If it does, you can probably fix it and still use AHCI mode if you remove the drivers and go back to the default Microsoft SATA drivers.

Basically, you do NOT want to use Biostar or AMD provided SATA drivers unless you have a board based on the AMD SB850 southbridge (the very latest and still shipping models).  Stick to either PATA mode or to the default Microsoft drivers.  You give up a bit of CPU utilization, but that's a fair trade if you know... It actually works right.

When you uninstall them from the Device Manager, assuming you have the "bad" ones, make sure to check the "delete the files" box in the uninstall process, or the computer will just happily reinstall the same drivers when you reboot the system.

tried a dvd in my burner and it plays without any problems.  Did unintsall bad drivers, installed win 7 drivers but still having the same problem from movies on the HD
