New Mac mini and J River MC 15
« on: February 06, 2011, 03:15:58 am »

Hi All,
I've been searching old threads and haven't found the answer...
I currently use an old Dell latitude laptop with J River MC 15 streaming files from my Synology 710 NAS via wireless - works very well, but.... no useful video out.
I am looking at the current Mac mini.
I plan to install Win 7 (I think only 32 bit version can be installed, cant see the point of the 64 bit for J River in any case....) via bootcamp (I don't want to run it in a virtual enrironment).
There will be nothing else running on the Mac mini apart from J River MC 15, controlled via RDP on the LAN and WebRemote (which is truly fantastic!)
The question is: Can anyone confirm whether the base spec'd Mac mini with only 2G RAM is sufficient for full HD video output?
Many thanks for any advice!
Cheers,
EO

I don't know.  Maybe someone else will.  Or you could try asking on the AVSForum for HTPC's.

There is a "Mac Chat" sub board at the top of the threads.

Let us know what you find.
