How do I stop Audio CD auto-play in W2k?
« on: June 09, 2002, 11:44:50 pm »

Every time I put an audio CD into my W2K machine, it loads MJ and starts to play It :_(

I have checked the options, and according to them CDA and music CDs are not associated with MJ.

I am currently running Mj 8.0.293. I beleve it to be an isue with my registry, not Mj, but I do not know what settings to change, and what to change them to. Ideally, I want to stop all auto-play on audio CDs, and would to prefer all auto-play completely rather than having MJ play the audio cds.

Thanks, Pinner

To disable AutoPlay

  1.. Double-click My Computer.
2.. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options, and then click the File
       Types tab.
3.. In Registered file types, click AudioCD, and then click Advanced.
4.. In Actions, click Play, and then click Set Default.

Note:
a.. You can temporarily disable AutoPlay by pressing SHIFT while you
        insert an audio CD.
b.. Repeating steps 1 through 4 enables AutoPlay.
c.. When Play is displayed in bold, AutoPlay is enabled. When Play is
not displayed in bold, AutoPlay is disabled.

Hope it helps !
