WAV files and missing metadata using WindowsMP 11
« on: February 14, 2011, 07:23:19 pm »

I have just finished ripping 500 gig to an external hard drive.  I used WMP11, ripping to WAV files.  I had many issues with metadata but finally got it all squared away.  Now I am trying to use the same hard drive on a different laptop in my hi end stereo.  The metadate is all screwed up and most of it is unkown.  I likely have "sync issues" but can not figure it out.  Would J River fix this problem...in my hours of trying to find answers on line, it seems that a player like the highly rated J River would work...but would it preserve the integrity of the metadata or am I screwed by using WAV?

thanks
Mark

ps  I find it difficult to find out just what J River is trying to sell

You could download here to try:

WAV file tagging is not widely supported.  Here's what MC does:
