i understand the premise from the help file that doing this ensures that there will not be gaps between tracks and that's good with classical or live music where there are segues between tunes, etc., but if that can be obtained by setting playback as gapless, is there any other benefit to doing that?  if you use CUE for this type of music, but use track transitions, then only separate tracks will have them applied?  i suppose fewer 'parts' means fewer things to get broken...    just looking for feedback on experience or opinion....

Just use the standard "track files" mode. The files will play gaplessly on MC.

MC cannot save tag changes to the cue sheets and very few other programs and devices support cue sheets at all.

The "single file" ripping mode is only useful if you want to play the album as a single big track on a device that does not support gapless playback. For instance, you might want to use it for ripping audiobook CDs or creating additional MP3 album images from certain gapless albums for portable use.
