As it says in the description. I've tried restarting the server and resetting the access key, but none of that has helped. It skips the external IP address, retries the internal IPs 4 times, then returns with a fail. I do not know what to try next, any ideas out there?

In Media Network options, try the "Test".  It will try to access your server from ours.

It returns with the "Your server has been registered..." blurb.

It should tell you whether it can reach your server, not just whether it is registered.

It makes no mention of that. I've tried with authentication both on, and off, the result is the same. If I turn WiFi on, the internal ip connects just fine. Using the data connection, the external ip is not attempted by Gizmo.

There is no access key in that message.  Something may be preventing outbound access to our server.

rebooted the router too, still no-workee!! I give up. I don't understand why Gizmo is skipping the external IP address when attempting the connection

Did you see my PM?  I can connect to your server and get to the login/password screen.

yup, got it, I've cleared the browser cache on the phone, and also cleared the Gizmo cached data from the phone. Still no-workee.

I'm currently in the process of uninstalling/reinstalling Gizmo....

which has not worked. For some reason, Gizmo is completely skipping over the external ip attempt.

I'm now beginning to wonder if this is a service provider problem...

If I go to http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:53000/WebRemote/ on my PC, I'm prompted for a user / password, then have access to the server.

If I then punch the same address into my phone browser, it returns a "page not available" error.

... Gizmo is completely skipping over the external ip attempt.
When I tried it from here, I saw Gizmo try two different IP addresses.

Scratch that.  I tried it again (several times).  Gizmo tries four different addresses before it connects.

Two are internal addresses:
192.168.144.1
and
192.168.1.2

It also tries this address:
169.254.x.x
and it finally connects on this one:
94.x.x.201

Do you have multiple network interfaces on that PC?  If so, try disabling one and then generating a new key.

Trying the same with the 94.x.x.201 address also gives me a login password.

On my phone, the 94....201 address flashes so fast I don't have time to read it.

I've tried the service provider support line.... the Q is too long, but they do have an announcement that they have issues with their GPRS system that may be affecting customers email and mobile internet usage. I reckon this is the problem, though don't understand why 'spelled out' addresses connect and load just fine, but direct IP numbers fail. Also, I thought that GPRS and 3G were separate systems, so if there's an issue with GPRS, surely 3G would be OK. I could be wrong, I know nothing much about these systems, I just expect them to work!!

I'll wait 24 hours and see if it comes back to life.

Jim, thanks for confirming it works fine from your side of the pond.

Connecting OK now. Seems the problem was indeed at my service provider's end. First time they've let me down in nigh on fifteen years... they really must do better or I'm out of there!! :D
