TV Audio difficulties
« on: February 27, 2011, 07:43:40 pm »

I have a Win 7 (64) desktop using a Yamaha RP-U100 usb receiver for audio and Hauppauge HVR-1600 TV tuner card w/ cable input, but I can't figure the correct settings to get audio with the TV picture.  Tried different settings for the audio, but nothing works.  Using MC16 beta.

Do you get the same result when using integrated sound.
This assumes you have a board with integrated audio and most do.
I also have Win 7 x64, HVR-1600 only I'm not using an external sound card.

Strange - going back to MC14 I get audio through the USB - Tuner connection (after some crashes).  I get Failed to render audio stream. Unspecified error.  I removed the USB and now get sound from other sources (iTunes, etc) through the front headphone jack, but still nothing from MC16.  TV options are Cable,  And I've tried every setting on the Audio tab, but I think it is mainly for if you have a cable from tuner card to audio card, which I don't.  Windows Media Center works fine.  Actually compared to Windows Media Center, MC16 is more difficult to work with, doesn't have preconfigured program info or as easy a recording feature.
