Acer Revo 3610 - 1080p playback issues
« on: March 14, 2011, 05:58:54 pm »

Are there any other users out there running revo 3610 at 1080p desktop resolution and 1080p mkv playback?  I recently purchased a new tv (had a 1080i previously) and now I'm getting stutter every 2 to 3 minutes.  When I go back to 720 desktop res the playback is flawless.  I've been on tons of posts and it seems its completely doable.  I also tested in mpc (using coreavc) and it stuttered as well.

For video filters I've tried both coreavc & cyberlink9.  With coreavc had CUDA acceleration on, aggressive deinterlacing off.  Audio filter I'm using ffdshow but thinking of using AC3filter.   I didn't select any other filters, just left them to automatic.

I'd love for someone with a revo at 1080p desktop res to advise me of their setup that is running 1080p videos flawlessly.

Thanks.

Anything like Podcasts going on in the background?  Virus checker?

Did you try a different renderer?

The Weird Problems link in my signature has some other possible causes.

No nothing.  I have tried different renderers and to no avail.  The computer is light on processing but everywhere I've read it can handle 1080 no problem and it was designed to handle it.

Another issue arose that is a weird one.  All my 1080 videos are being increased to 191% to fit the screen where as my 720 videos are being increased by 140%.  How odd is that?  I go down to 100% and sure enough it's about 1/2 the size.  And yes they are 1080 movies based on their properties.  This is an odd one for me.

I think i've narrowed it down to refresh rates and the tv being 120hz.  I'm going to start a new thread.

Also, it is possible to turn off the "smooth motion" or whatever the feature is called on your TV, if it has this feature. Most people prefer it off for movies. It might help reduce or eliminate the stuttering.
