Any advantages to using m3u files?

New to MC and ready to load 150GB of music files by: Genre > Artist > Album. Some folders have m3u files. I understand m3u files are

When importing the music files into MC do I need to use the m3u files, is it recommended to use the m3u files or am I better off deleting these m3u files from the folders. Also any negatives to having m3u files when importing full music library into MC?

Any advice appreciated.
