Relational Field Reverts to Non Relational
« on: April 25, 2011, 03:12:32 pm »

I have a custom field named Country set to be a relational field with settings according to the attached screenshot.
http://www.pix01.com/gallery/2C35046A-A3DD-4104-9062-4B414C2DAE90/Screenshot/bigpage.html?image=624454688_orig0.jpg

Every time I close and restart MC the setting for that field is set to not relational.

Below is my system info. This is on Win 7.

Country is a stock field (non-relational, list-style).

It's a bug that the program was allowing you to edit it.  You'll need to use a different field name for a custom field.

In a coming build:
Fixed: The database fields 'Original Title' and 'Country' would incorrectly appear as user fields and allow editing.

Hmm. That explains it. But it worked perfectly as a relational field. Why not allow also certain stock fields to be relational?

I just wanted to let you know that the fix in the .75 build made most of the entries in the Country field disappear. I may have tagged this field when it was set to not relational, as well as when I had set it to relational. Taking a look at the remaining values I would guess that only those values added when the field was set to not relational are preserved. I entered all values in the Country field in MC (not from the file tags) and sometimes I forgot to set the field back to relational after a restart of MC.

(I have saved the Country field to the actual file tags so I should be fine by just updating the MC library from the file tags, and wait for quite a while... )

Stock fields should not have been editable.  Unfortunately, two were.

Sorry for the trouble.
