So, I've gotten a couple of Anaglyph (3D) mp4 movies on my file server now. I do not have any idea of how I should play this. Simply playing it and taking the Panasonic glasses on did not do much Does MC supports this? Is there any filters or stuff I need? And will it be synced with my Panasonic glasses and my Panasonic VT20 plasma screen?

I've heard that VLC supports this, but the little testing I did was totally unsuccessful.

I thought 3D video was basically as simple as playing a 120Hz file with a 120Hz display and connection?  Is there some type of subchannel information so that the display knows the left eye frame from the right eye frame?

I'm not sure at all. I've read some info on HDMI cables and 3D, and it seems that you'll need HDMI 1.4 to fully support 3D in 1080P. But that is mostly (if not only) because you have to send twice the frames to your TV, and HDMI 1.3 does not support this troughput. So you'll have to reduce the resolution or set it to 1080i for this to work. Or so they say.

It might as well be such an easy explanation that I have acquired a "old" 3D movies that is just meant for this older green and read glasses. The more I think of it, the more certain I get. When I watch the movie, it has a LOT of green and read edges. A new 3D movie should not have this. It's just supposed to have different positions on the frames, or part of the things in each frame I guess.

I'm not sure if it is possible to rip a Bluray 3D movie at all.

Anaglyph is the "older" Red/Green 3-D sytems (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anaglyph_image).  These are normal files and will play with MC just fine.

Anyone know if it's possible to rip this newer 3D movies yet, or do you have to just have to copy the whole bluray content? I haven't managed to find anything online, and my days of purchasing disks is over I'm afraid.

DVDFab can do it.  I've ripped Avatar in 3D (though I've never actually tried to play it, since 3D is gimmicky and I only have one set of glasses for my Panny).
