I'm not sure at all. I've read some info on HDMI cables and 3D, and it seems that you'll need HDMI 1.4 to fully support 3D in 1080P. But that is mostly (if not only) because you have to send twice the frames to your TV, and HDMI 1.3 does not support this troughput. So you'll have to reduce the resolution or set it to 1080i for this to work. Or so they say.
It might as well be such an easy explanation that I have acquired a "old" 3D movies that is just meant for this older green and read glasses. The more I think of it, the more certain I get. When I watch the movie, it has a LOT of green and read edges. A new 3D movie should not have this. It's just supposed to have different positions on the frames, or part of the things in each frame I guess.
I'm not sure if it is possible to rip a Bluray 3D movie at all.
