disable check if file exists
« on: May 23, 2011, 03:25:24 am »

Hi,

I use a QNAP 410 NAS as file source.

I'm having serious issues with MC software because I think MC is overloading my NAS with file access requests. This will cause MC to Hang. Is it possible to make MC more light weight?
1) E.g. could I disable that MC will verify If a file still exists on the network drive? (Yellow cross)?

Thanks

I run MC with the data (30.000 files) on a Qnap TS110
Performance is good

Options > Tree & View > Advanced > Display missing file image in lists (slow on network drives)

You can tell auto-import to remove broken links.

You may need to set 'Fix broken links' to 'Yes' instead of 'Yes (protected network files)'.  By default, we're careful with network files since it's common for a NAS to come and go.

ah ok. So when i am home with my "work laptop" i should temporarly set the setting to yes.

And when going outside with my laptop i should enable "protect network files"

Thanks!
