There is something funny going on when I update MC. Update channels is set to latest. I trigger the update, the installation begins, MC shuts down, installation finishes - asks to restart Windows. I choose not to do that (my own reasons). Then I download the executable separately, run the same (latest) update one more time, now it finishes, no question to restart Windows, MC starts fine, business as usual. I have a a feeling this has happened before the updating channels feature, but probably I see it more often now.
I believe some file gets locked, MC falls back to "restart Windows please" as the only way to be sure the whatever handle is locking that file is gone, but actually the file is released in a short time (by Windows?). However I'm not sure what exactly is going on or if I can do something to help it. It kept on happening on a old Win7 install and on a fresh one (as in deployed yesterday, it's not a Christmas three of libraries and codecs yet). Any thoughts?
