album allocation
« on: June 23, 2011, 03:46:30 am »

Hi, I'm new to jriver version 16.0.111 and I'm struggling to work out why jriver has allocated single songs as albums in several of my various artist compilations.  What I mean by this is that when I select the pane view, each song is showing as a single song album with it's own pane.  When I select album view, each song has it's own thumbnail.  The only view that shows the albums as they should be is the file view.   It's really frustrating as I can't play an entire album from the pane view or the album view.  Does anyone know how I can change this so that the programme sees these files as they should be (eg one album of 20 songs)?

Your problem is probably caused by inconsistent album artist tags.

Each album should have only a single Album Artist library field value (the same value for all tracks) or no Album Artist value at all. If the album has multiple artists and no album artist is tagged then the automatic album artist value is (Multiple Artists).
