Touch Screen Jukebox View
« on: June 27, 2011, 02:42:13 pm »

Hi,
I have just downloaded the software, and am fooling around with it.  I currently use software that enables me to view all my albums as covers (with the artist above, name of album below). When the software is running, you can page through the albums (or use a slider to get to a letter), click on it to see track listing, add song to queue etc...  just like Touch Tunes in a bar.  When doing this it locks you out of the rest of the computer, and does not enable changing of volume etc.. unless you enter a password to get to the options screen.

Is this something that you can do with this software?  I use mostly .wav files (and have the program pull the info from the folder/track name. I really like the audio quality and sophistication of this software (multi room, etc..), but would like to have a jukebox mode that restricted access for parties etc..

Thank You

Just wondering if anybody knew if my above post is possible?  Is it something that could be done via a new skin?

Thanks

Have you looked at the Obsidian Touchscreen skin in conjunction with party-mode?

Yes, I have it is on the right track, just not exactly what I was looking for.  I was looking for something a little simpler, and with less access to volume controls, leaving the view, stopping playback etc..

Sort of when you click on a cover, the track listing comes up.  From there you click on a track and it adds it to the queue. Maybe have the options of play next, etc.. that could be removed or added depending on how you felt from the skin options page.  And to edit the queue you would need a password.

Thanks

It sounds like you should be using Theater View. Have you tried playing around with it?

Yes,
I have been using the Theater Obsidian Touchscreen skin.  I have been fooling around with the options under tools/theater view.  I just have not found a way to modify more of the options. Is this something you have to do by modifying the skin? I wonder if I could pay to have a skin made like that.

Thanks

It looks like I am not able to create the skin I want by just fooling around with the theater view options.

I think that having a real "jukebox" skin that limited access would be appealing to many people.  The software I use now has a pretty good following, but is just not as advanced or slick as this.  When I have a party I want to be able to just have people click on a letter or browse through the albums and add the song to the queue.  I do not want them to be able to change the volume, skip the song, etc..   Being able to click on the queue to see what is coming up next is nice too.  To exit the program, modify the queue etc.. would require a password.   I really like the 3D graphics of this program, and the great sound quality.

Is this something that is even possible with this program via a custom skin, or is it not feasible?  I would be willing to pay a fee for a skin to be created like this.

Thanks!

Posted to another topic about this very issue. I'm using an ELO USB touchscreen.

Works great in everything BUT theater view MC16....<sigh>

I'll have to check out that skin you mentioned.
