J river V:16.0.123 Roku soundbridge stopped working
« on: June 30, 2011, 02:22:49 pm »

Hi

Don't know if here is the correct place to post this but hey I'm still new to the J river community.

I noticed here in the forum that the latest software build was V16.0.122 and when i checked my version i noticed that i had 121. I then tried to update it but it said that i had the latest version.
I changed then from stable to latest and voila i got the 123 build. I haven't found any info on this build thou.

Oh well i like to test and i noticed that my Roku soundbridge won't play any music any longer. it still appears in playing now and i can also see it on Gizmo but as soon as i send it any music i get a pop up from the J river media on my server stating:

There was a problem controlling the selected DLNA device. Double-check your device, server, and network settings.

Part of the log looks like this:

My other units works as they should.

192.168.1.66 is the server, 192.168.1.72 is the soundbridge and 192.168.1.91 is my Tablet running Gizmo

Any ideas?

I haven't tried going back to 121 build yet due to now wanting to change alot of settings and I don't know if I can back them up.

Are you pushing to it (using as a zone)?

So it worked in 121 and died in 123? Did you try powercycling the Roku?
If it still doesn't work, can you send me a wireshark dump, shortened to just the push/fail?

Sorry for taking so much time for this but firstly i was on Maiden concert this friday and yesterday it was the Big 4. Huge metal weekend in Gothenburg ;D.

Sadly my email client has stopped to work do to huge flods in copenhagen and Surftown that has my mail server has been totally drowned :-[

As soon as i get mail comunication i will send Bob a ethernet dump on my problem.

another problem is that my trial has now ended and i will buy a license as soon as I can get me a functional mail.

How strange life can be.

The Roku has not been working for a few days and i had more or less given up on testing until i could send Bob a wireshark dump.

I started recording the dump yesterday and during this I started sending out songs and play lists to my roku so wireshark could record the possible error.

Then to my huge suprise instead of getting a error it started playing the song. I have been sending audio to the unit now for 6 or 7 hours and it still works. Just as it did before the j.river update.

Nothing has been changed to my knowledge in my network so i honestly have no clue on why it suddenly started working.

But i will keep a close look on it and see what happens in the next few days and if it starts having trouble i will send the wireshark dump to Bob.

So thank you for taking time on this it's much appreciated.
