Not a new issue and not terribly crippling.

In a burn menu, under Options, one can select
a CD-Writer, other than what selected when MJ was opened.
Given that at least two writers are present.

Selecting another writer does not become effective,
until MJ is exited and re-started.

Also if a blank CD is inserted in such newly selected
writer, it will not be recognized and MJ keeps asking for
a blank in the originally selected writer.

Something new with this build:

After scanning an image, MJ goes to a white screen and freezes for anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes depending on the image resolution that was selected.  This doesn't occur when scanning outside of MJ.

Durgame:
In a burn menu, under Options, one can select a CD-Writer, other than what was selected when MJ was opened...

When you go to Options/Settings from the CD writer dialog, you are able to set options for various CD writer devices on your system, but it isn't a way to select the current CD writer for the current burn dialog. To select different writers, you drag files to them in the tree, or use the "send to" menu to send to the writer you want, or set the "target area" to the writer you want and drag files onto it. If you have moved files to the wrong writer, just click Cancel on the burn dialog to clear them out.
Does that make sense?

I see what the mechanics are now.  I normally select
the songs to a playlist, then click the Burn button
at the top.  This seems to always send the playlist
to the same (last) writer.  I can move the playlist
as you suggested w/o problems. I was trying to select
another writer via the Options menu, but did not work.

On small glitch found here, a Sony CDU948S writer
shows a blank present (Ready for Writing) even when
there isn't one.  This is a SCSI caddy model.
