Burning cd problem

Hi all  :)
I have tried to burn cds, with and without the 'decode direct to disc' and 'write cd text' options enabled. The result is a failure listed as follows:

Error writing pre-gap.
Cannot write medium - incompatible format.

I'm using 16.0.128, 64 bit Win7 and a Samsung optical drive. I guess its something very simple but can't find an answer in the FAQs,

Please help.

Did you ever solve this? I also get this error "Error writing pre-gap" and my CD is ruined (frisbee), without music on it. When burning from other software (same discs) burning works fine.
