There are several Volume control options under player..Ive tried to look up what each one will do in the guide to no avail..can someon illuminate me..Also i simply want to turn my dac and preamp up all the way and contriol my volume thru my keyboard and or remote..and have tried each onfiguation to no avail...this is on a windows 7 computer...all that happens is the volume icon comes on and scrolls up or down but the real vomlume never changes unlessi do it with my hardware?..thanks

Below is an explanation of each type of volume control. You will need to use Internal Volume with MC16 being the active program when changing volume. With some soundcards/DAC's, you need to turn the System Volume all the way up and then switch to Internal Volume. If using a keyboard, you may have trouble controlling the volume if the mfg. keyboard drivers (Microsoft Intellitype, Logitech Keyboard drivers, etc.) are loaded. What keyboard are you using?

Application Volume - This is a Windows 7 feature that allows each application to be set to a different volume level. You might want MC playing in the background and still be able to hear system sounds while working in a program. You could set MC to one level and system sounds down low. It allows you to increase the volume in MC without increase the volume for the system sounds. You need to be using Direct Sound output to use the benefits of this volume method.

Internal Volume - This is done at 64 bits and bypasses the Windows volume control. When using ASIO, WASAPI, or Kernel Streaming output to some devices you need to use internal volume because the Windows volume control is bypassed completely. The MC program needs to be the active window for the volume to be changed.

System Volume - The Windows volume control is done at 32 bits and can be controlled at any time unless the device bypasses the System Volume Control. Using this allows you to easily change MC's volume regardless of when the application is the active window.

Disabled Volume - This makes sure you are sending through a completely unchanged signal to a DAC or receiver and are using the outboard device for volume control. MC's internal volume control could result in better quality, but using the outboard device for volume control could be more convenient.

Mojave, i have a dell zino running windows 7...as my server...i have an IOgear wireless usb keyboard and trackball device along with a radio controlled remote that came with the zino to run windows multimedia ...it has a sound + and - on it that pops up the windows volume icon when i use that remote..also I am using wasabli but am using my Dac supplied driver since i using it hooked to a usb port...an dwant to set my dacs internal volume control to fixed and full ...along with my preamp ..and use jriver volume control to control vol either thru my android tab or my keyboard or dell zino remote..thanks Vic

ok got it working ok..BUT i have over 1000 cds ripped ..and many are of the classic rock era which are analog to digital cds ..which play at a vastly lower lever then newer era cds...in any event when i switch between these 2 types of cds...is there a way to start off a new cd lets say at a % of max volume and then i can adjust afterwards...ie lets say im playing rush ( old aad cd) at max vol then switch over to say Alterbridge Newer era add cd)...can i set it auto to make sure anynew albums are started off with vol at lets say 80% setting ...?

If your music files have been analyzed by MC then Replay Gain can balance the volume level.

OK tried reading the docs re analyzing..but couldnt figure out how to " Run Audio Mode then select ctrl -a to select all files to be readied for analyze?

Just select the files you want to analyze.  Even one.  Ctrl-A will select all.

I have gone to files in the main tree selected all and tried to then go to advanced and clicked on anaylyze only to have mc16 crash every time...i have over 12000 files and 950 albums...?
