Controlling a DLNAserver.
« on: August 09, 2011, 03:51:07 pm »

Does the client part of JRiver 16.0.128 can control an Asset UPnP DLNA server? (from dbPoweramp)

I still cannot get rid of a 6 seconds gap between tracks and it's really annoying when listening to classical music.  I contacted this forum a while ago but the suggestions did not work. Same files/directories play fine with Squeezebox server which points to JRiver configuration.

This is why I want to try a different server to stream music from a PC to a PSAudio Perfectwave DAC which is DLNA compliant.  The JRiver client runs on a laptop in the listening room. Actually it communicates with JRiver 16 (server) but this 6 seconds gap is so annoying that I'm looking for an alternate solution.  Since I own a license for JRiver, I'd like to keep using it on the client laptop for controlling purposes.

Thanks for helping,

Nixki

Have you used that DAC with any server that works gap-less? DLNA is not very friendly to gap-less playback. The linn extensions are an attempt to work around that...
