False Expiration
« on: August 15, 2011, 03:47:48 pm »

Does changing the name of your computer cause MC 16 to expire? I changed the computer's name today, and right after the necessary re-start, MC said that the license had expired. I got them to send me what was called a "Temporary Install Key". After using that, MC is back up and running, but I don't like the term "temporary". Does this mean that I'm going to have to do this all over again in 14 days or a month? In the Registration box, it says that this version is registered. I'd just like to know if there's anything else I need to do to prevent it from expiring again.

Yes, it can.  Sounds like you're OK now.  The Install Key can be used to license your PC for 14 days.  After that, you need to use your Registration Code to do a Restore.  This is covered under the "Purchase" link above.

So, since I already did the restore using the temporary link, I'm good to go (at least until the next version comes out), right?
