Lost & Confused over new licensing
« on: May 25, 2002, 12:33:01 am »

I have written e-mail to Gaitley and he has sent me two files but can't get them to work. Closest I have gotten I think is to a screen that said my 30 day limit has expired.

Good golly! I have already sent you payment for v8 at the very start of beta testing. You really want to charge me an additional payment?

Please advise. I'm really confused about thiswhole mess.

what version of mj do you have installed?

if they are extender .mjr files all you need to do is dbl click on one of them or open them and mj will register.

The FAQ above will lead you to a page that answers questions on licensing.

That page tells you how to restore a license when you visit the "Restore Page".

The Restore Page is here:

https://rover.jriver.com/cgi-bin/restore.cgi

Enter your registration code there and follow the directions.

Hi Shotgun2,

The "files" I sent were probably my digital signature. All you have to do is go to the restore page (https://rover.jriver.com/cgi-bin/restore.cgi) and click on the button that says "If you don't know your registration code click here", and then put in your email address (the one you put in when you purchased). It will then mail you a registration code, and you just cut-n-paste that into the first page, and you'll be licensed.

Boy - oh - boy, youse guys sure know how to screw a guy up!

I bought a license for ver 6 that worked for ver 7. I bought a license for ver 8 at the very start of beta testing. All these purchases was to include the plus features. Now then you want me to prove to you that I paid for ver 8?

Every one of you knows me and that I'm old and senile and when I make a decision to do something, I do it and burn all my bridges behind me so's I must go forward and never back.

JimH
I'm not a computer guru and don't plan to be. ALL I WANT TO DO IS STORE AND PLAY MY MUSIC!
I have paid out to J River ~$50. I still do not have a program that will play my music satisfactorily; don't care what you and your chronies say! You will probably delete this message because you know deep in your soul of what I am saying; but you're too much a wimp to realize and recognize it. (You can't stand criticism no matter what!) If you had worked for my mfg organization 30-10 years ago, I would have fired you).

Something has been done to the programming in ver 8 whatever, that prevents me from restoring backed up libraries. I am a very unhappy camper with JRiver and MJ, and et. all.

Please give me the ability to run Ver 8 and to restore my present libraries of music and I promise you; YOU WILL NEVER HEAR FROM ME AGAIN!

The closest thing I can come up with right now is included in one of the Gately files he sent to me.

Is there any part of this I can use to restore ver 8 license?

Charmingly naive, Robert.

Just so you know, there have been posts deleted for profanity, but the majority of deleted and or modified posts were treated that way specifically for their ideas or expressed criticism.

It's Jim's board and he occasionally exercises (exorcises?) his rudder hand.
That's fine, but let's not rewrite history.

Callithumpian,
I have left many negative posts that were expressed with at least a little respect.  Impolite posts sometimes get deleted.  Call me whatever you want.  I'm trying to keep a tone here that is civil.
