Copy files and keeping playlist sequence

I want to copy files of a playlist to another location but keep the sequence in order.  Every time I copy/sync the files they lose the playback order.  Is there a way to copy the files to a new location and keep the sequence I set up?  I want to do this so I can change the metadata (cover art, album name, etc.) to what I want, but not lose the original info.

Basically, I want to make a mix cd without burning a disc.  Exporting just the playlist doesn't meet my goals.

Any suggestions?
