Minestrone Soup An Italian Classic
« on: October 03, 2011, 09:59:59 am »

My wife loves Minestrone Soup, But normally she makes Campbell's, and other canned Soup, She also Got Someone from Canada To Bring Some Lipton Soupworks "Minestrone Soup" into the country for her (Lipton Minestrone Soup Is Not Available In The US). I never cared for it, none of the versions she found.

So today I am making fresh Minestrone Soup (Currently There Is No Pasta In it) I Will Add That When I Get Ready To Plate. I do not want the Pasta to become soggy, and tomorrow will be left over but using rice.

Minestrone Soup Is Italian Soup, And is a thick soup made with vegetables, often with the addition of pasta or rice. Common ingredients include beans, onions, celery, carrots, stock, and tomatoes. Minestrone is one of the cornerstones of Italian cuisine, and is almost as common as pasta on Italian tables. Some of the earliest origins of minestrone soup pre-date the expansion of the Latin tribes of Rome into what became the Roman Republic and later Roman Empire, when the local diet was "vegetarian by necessity". The Roman army is said to have marched on minestrone and pasta e ceci

The introduction of tomatoes and potatoes from the Americas in the Mid 16th Century changed the soup by making available two ingredients which have since become staples.
