How to use "Tremote?"
« on: October 26, 2011, 10:18:14 am »

Hello,
I've downloaded two copies of JR Media Center one for my music server and one for my netbook that I want to use as a remote,
I cant find any clear or precise information about "Tremote" in your Wikki...

Thank you.

Welcome to the forum.

Here's a thread:
http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=52261.0

Run Media Server on the server.

Configure Media Network on the server.   It can generate an Access Key.

On the client, do File/Library/Library Manager and Add Library.   Enter the Access Key on the client.

Now you've loaded the library of the server on the client.

Under the client's Playing Now, the remote machine (the server) should show up.   You can drag content to it or just click on it.  Everything should then play on the server.

I added this as a Tremote topic on the wiki.  Please report any difficulty with the instructions.

Well...
I can see the remote library (on the server) from the netbook (my remote) but it does not work:
It either plays files locally on the netbook or I have an error message: "something went wrong with playback"

Of course everything else is fine, flac files have been played for days on the server trough Wasapi out to a USB M-Audio devices and they sound good.

Seems to be a killer app. if only it could work!  :)

It works.

Try playing back the same files on the server from the server itself.  Transfer a few files and try the same on the client.

What is the full version of MC?

Ok, now it's acting as a remote!

For some strange reasons I have to select "Zone-01".  But the server is taking all the commands from the netbook - nice.

Is it also possible to to change parameters on a VST-Plugin running on the server (an EQ for example) from the remote?

Thanks.
