"Failed to load timeshifting files"

When showing TV channel and recording is started there is a long delay and the screen turns black with the text "Waiting.." then after maybe a minute there is a popup "Failed to load time shifting files"

The same problem is found in MC16 and MC17.

The log has some interesting lines:

You may need to set up the device.  Click on TV Options.

What should I be looking for?
What does the error indicate?

Looks like "CTSFileReader" is starting it..

(The TV image is fine and old TV recordings work fine)

There is another problem.. in the TV options.

After viewing the TV options-settings-devices-configure for a tuner for a few seconds the configure window locks up.

If configuration is closed quick enough there is no lockup. The problem is only in the device configuration even with no config action.
