Lose sound when channel surfing
« on: April 28, 2011, 11:11:35 pm »

When I change between channels that have AC3 audio set to true to those set with false, I lose sound. The same applies in reverse.

I have to press stop and start the TV signal again to get sound back.

I have a DVB-T service.

Any suggestions?

Try installing AC3Filter and use it for audio decoding in TV.

Cheers, tried that and no luck.

At this stage I've tried a huge number of filter combinations, ffdd show settings, as well as changing audio output devices and any other audio related tweak I can think of.

But no joy.

The reason why I made that suggestion was that jmone and/or raym had similar trouble and it was solved by using AC3Filter.  When switching channels, we keep the same time-shifting session running, so we have to rely on decoders to detect and handle the format change.

We are all seeing this with TV channel changing when the audio stream changes and Ac3Filter does fix it.  As a matter of interest, if you change back to an AC3 audio channel does sound come back again?

It did but, interestingly, now it doesn't.

I might try and reload CCCP and try again.

Ah, it's working now. I never had AC3Filter installed, it was AC3FilterParser I was using. I need to tune my memory a little better when I move between my computers.

AC3Filter did it.

Thanks!

This problem has now returned.  When I channel surf I lose sound.

I use ROHQ. RO Standard does not work with TV full stop.
