flac or aif in their native format... no upsampling
« on: November 04, 2011, 05:41:56 am »

It looks like the only way you can play these files is with upsampling, is there a way to play them in their native format with no upsampling?  And can you use Wasapi to do it, if I set the sample rate output to no change mediacenter won't play the 96 or 88.2kHz files?  I'm using a sound blaster HD card that should have all the sample rates available.  It looks like ASIO might but the bitdepth goes from 24bit to 64bit.

Maybe you have made a setting in your soundcard driver to only support certain rates ?
Where will the sound signal go to ? Decode directly in your PC or do you pass it on to some kind of AVR ?

In general automatic sample rate switching doesn’t work using WASAPI + sound card.
Use ASIO instead.
If a sound card supports ASIO it can do automatic sample rate switching
