Kick disk upon hitting unpause... Possible?
« on: February 15, 2011, 08:49:56 pm »

If I pause a track, and it is paused for a spell, eventually the disk goes into low power or sleep mode.  When I continue playback, playback plays the extant buffer full (a couple of seconds worth) and then halts while the disk spins up and MC attempts to re-fill the buffer.

I'm wondering, would it be possible to kick the disk on which the track resides immediately upon hitting Play, so that it might be ready when MC goes to grab the next segment?

I've had this same issue.

I suppose part of coming out of pause, if it's been more than a minute, could be opening the file (again) and reading the first and last byte.

A mild bump.
