Quick find in File / Cover Art Directory
« on: November 28, 2011, 08:54:11 pm »

All,

I am using "Quick find in File / Cover Art Directory" to attach cover art to video files. In the directory I have the video files and image files each named exactly the same, ie video1.mkv and video1.jpg.

When I try to associate the files listed below, 009-1 10.mkv - 009-1 14.mkv are being associated with 009-1 1.jpg instead of the corresponding mkv-jpg file.

For these I have to use "Add from file" and select each one individually. I have some series with > 26 episodes each and this can take a long time.

Is the system correctly picking the image file as intended or is this a bug?

filename      image file
K\009-1\009-1 1.mkv      009-1 1.jpg
K\009-1\009-1 2.mkv      009-1 2.jpg
K\009-1\009-1 3.mkv      009-1 3.jpg
K\009-1\009-1 4.mkv      009-1 4.jpg
K\009-1\009-1 5.mkv      009-1 5.jpg
K\009-1\009-1 6.mkv      009-1 6.jpg
K\009-1\009-1 7.mkv      009-1 7.jpg
K\009-1\009-1 8.mkv      009-1 8.jpg
K\009-1\009-1 9.mkv      009-1 9.jpg
K\009-1\009-1 10.mkv      009-1 1.jpg <---- expected 009-1 10.jpg
K\009-1\009-1 11.mkv      009-1 1.jpg <---- expected 009-1 11.jpg
K\009-1\009-1 12.mkv      009-1 1.jpg <---- expected 009-1 12.jpg
K\009-1\009-1 13.mkv      009-1 1.jpg <---- expected 009-1 13.jpg

Also, as stated in another topic, I have to flag these files as Movie so I can associate separate image files and not one series file, also annoying. But in order to use the backdrop feature in Theater View, I have to have the files flagged as TV Show. So this requires me to change the files to video to associate the image file and then change them to TV Show to see the backdrop. Again annoying and seemingly, unnecessary. And if there is a way to batch "Get Movie and TV info" that would be great... maybe highlight a series and then select the correct returned series name and have it download the meta-data associated with each episode, similar to AutoMeta. Lastly, in order for the TV episode to be found in theTVDB, the file needs to be flagged as a "TV Show", but then I can't download the episode cover art because it will associate it with the series and not just the episode. (Going in circles)

Don't mean to go on a tangent and start a similar thread to what has already begun...

TIA,

AL

BUMP.

Is no one else experiencing the same issues with Quick find in File / Cover Art Directory?

I simplified the test, creating:

009-1 1.mkv
009-1 1.jpg
009-1 10.mkv
009-1 10.jpg

and replicated your results.  The "10" file will show artwork for "1".

I replaced the "1 10" with "1_10" in both the mkv and jpg file, and then correct artwork was shown.  Converting the underscore back into space reverted to the "1" artwork.

The error shows itself in the [Image File] property.

Seems like a bug in converting the filename minus the suffix into the cover art name when more than single digits are used after a space.

This is an old thread, but I wanted to say that this doesn't seem to happen with recent versions of MC 17.

Please let us know if you see something different.

Hi!

I have another problem with Quick find in File / Cover Art Directory: Earlier versions seemed to save the cover art file according to the name inside Mediacenter. Now the new version saves it according to the filename.
I have a lot of .jpg saved according to the name and quick find in file wont find it in the new version... this is quite annoying!

Example:
Extreme Rage (United States, 2003, English).avi
would save the cover art as
Extreme Rage.jpg
and also find it that way (with quick find in file) in the previous Mediacenter 17 (or 16?) versions

Now I moved my files and want to import them again and all my movie collection is without cover art!

Please tell me a way to get this fixed! The best thing actually would be a way to rename the cover art files to the new way of handling them... I would love to have my Extreme Rage.jpg renamed to Extreme Rage (United States, 2003, English).jpg

Thanks
