Dual Encoding
« on: November 28, 2011, 09:47:42 pm »

hey,
is it possible to keep 2 versions of my music library?  i currently have my entire collection stored in wav and that is what i use at home.
i would like to create a 2nd version of my existing music files in a smaller format (192k) for use on my ipod. is this possible? can i set up so that when i add new music to my wav collection that it automatically updates the smaller file? can this all be done without showing duplicates in the software?
thanks!

You might want to read about Stacks:

It isn't quite automatic, but might be what you're looking for.  You can have multiple formats, and easily distinguish between them, so no need to have 2 different libraries.

Other lossless formats tag better than WAV.  Suggestion: consider FLAC or other.  If not, no need to justify why you desire WAV.
