Automatically move songs based on smartlist (is it possible?)
« on: December 20, 2011, 04:12:29 pm »

I'm currently using Google Music upload&stream service.
I have way more than the allowed 20.000 files, so I initially created a smartlist containing albums with at least one song played or rated.
I then moved the files from D:\Music\ to D:\Music-sync\

Now I would like to automatically move any new album that correspond to the smartlist filters but that is still in D:\Music\

How can I do that?

There is no automatic renaming in MC.

You can select your sync smartlist, and then select all files in that list and use the Rename dialog's Find & Replace to replace D:\Music\ with D:\Music-sync\.

Or make a smarter list of files to be moved, i.e. your smartllist + a test for filepathname does not contain "D:\Music-sync".

Just watch replacing D:\Music with D:\Music-sync if you have selected files in d:\Music-sync as you will end up with d:\Musicd:\Music-sync (or does it just throw you an error and do nothing??)
