Can I use a Lame encoder, in MJ 8, not as an externat encoder?
And why is it so slow, encoding MP3s in MJ 7.2 with the Lame encoder?

Yes, the Lame encoder in version 8 is "internal" and MUCH faster than in version 7.2. Mainly because it uses the "exe" instead of the "dll" version of the encoder, and encodes "on-the-fly".
