Setting up a Series/Box set
« on: December 26, 2011, 02:51:40 pm »

I have several box sets such as the "Band of Brothers" which is six DVD disks. How can I set up the view in Theater View to only show one cover for the entire set of disks and then when selected/opened it would give the choice to select the specifc disk I want to watch?
Currently my Theater View shows all six disks. I tried "Stacking" them and that reduced all six cover views to a single cover, but opening that single cover did not provide a choice of which disk to view - it just wanted to play the top disk. Is there a way to open this single cover view and have it bring up a menu so that I can choose which disk I want to view?
Thanks.

I am sure there is a more elegant way to do it than the way I do, but, I asign an Artist such as "Band Of Brothers" to all the DVDs, then asign an album to each individual DVD. Then they will sort like audio does.

I would recommend:
Media Sub Type: TV Show
Series: Band of Brothers

Then use the Series or Season view inside Theater View > Video > Shows.

Yes you are correct Matt, I use the method you describe. I use the method I stated for combining individual rips of concert video tracks to combine them into an "Album" type. Sorry for my confusion.
