DSD to PCM on the fly
« on: December 24, 2011, 12:56:58 pm »

Will this function be implamented into MC anytime soon? Seems Amarra can or will soon....  "DSD to PCM using the advanced Phillips based Trellis conversion (Nov, 2011)"
One other questions, is there such service that will take your SACD and ripped them for you?

I barely understand DSD, but I don't think there is any advantage in converting to PCM unless the device doesn't support DSD.  Our wiki has a topic on DSD.

High quality DSD to PCM conversion is part of MC 16 and 17.

Personally I think this is a better way to handle DSD than bitstreaming (which v17 supports), since PCM allows all other audio features to function.

WOW!, plays DSD Formats real nice!  Due to limitation of my DAC I had to down sample to 192 from 384 but still sounds Great!
