MrC, thanks for your quick answer.
Data first, I am mainly on licensed MC16, trying out 17 (each time a new beta comes out I do a fresh 17 install).
The problem we are dealing with here is the SAME for both. The 17 database wase carried over from 16, but the 16 database is an original 16 made db, I reinstalled ALL my PC 6 months ago and rebuilt the complete audio, image and video database.
I tried the smartlist suggestions you pointed me to. I STILL GET THIS BOTH IN MC16 and MC17:
Library now has 58480 files. Search and update took 0:03.
Imported 0 new files.
Skipped 62 files previously determined to be bad.
Updated 4 files that had external changes.
The smartlist is:
[Media Type]=[Video],[Audio],[Image] ~d=rb
I tried with audio only, video only, image only and all combinations. Same result:
After autoimport the smart list remains EMPTYYou wont see in auto import results any skipped files now because I discovered casually a folder with ringtones in the file list that did not exist any more. But the smartlist I had created with the ~d=r option did NOT show anything either
As you see it is kind of difficult finding 62 "bad" files in a list of 58480.
First, the prompt bothers me.
Second, most bad files I can fix, for example I had an wmv file that MC would not play it gave me an "Failed to connect Audio decoder to source/splitter" that I converted to mkv using xilisoft video converter, and now MC plays it. THAT IS MY IDEA WITH "Bad files" detected by MC, and maybe some samples could be of use for you to fix bugs.... if other player plays the file... MC should
ANY IDEAS PLEASE I really want to find those "bad" files AnyOne ?
